Rose Mary’s Story

Each individual facing cancer has their own story to live and share with different memories of what it feels like to be diagnosed with cancer. When I received my diagnosis I said, “No way.” I was enjoying a very nice retirement; keeping busy with golf, tennis, yoga, and a part-time job that I enjoyed. The symptoms were there and the CAT scan showed evidence of the disease; this was March of 2008. Surgery revealed Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer–I heard a death sentence.

Thanks to good medical care and love and support from my family, I have survived.

The Rose Mary Flanagan Ovarian Cancer Foundation is my way of giving thanks for this time I have, which I will use to carry out the mission of our foundation.
