Our Mission

We are committed to work together with our community to promote awareness of Ovarian Cancer, to support research leading to the development of an early detection test and more effective treatments of Ovarian Cancer. RMFOCF will conduct community based events to support these purposes.

Rose Mary’s Story

Each individual facing cancer has their own story to live and share with different memories of what it feels like to be diagnosed with cancer. When I received my diagnosis I said, “No way.” I was enjoying a very nice retirement; keeping busy with golf, tennis, yoga, and a part-time job that I enjoyed. The symptoms were there and the CAT scan showed evidence of the disease; this was March of 2008. Surgery revealed Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer–I heard a death sentence.

Thanks to good medical care and love and support from my family, I have survived.

The Rose Mary Flanagan Ovarian Cancer Foundation is my way of giving thanks for this time I have, which I will use to carry out the mission of our foundation.
